Get Glowing With These Skin Brightening Tips

When skincare brands, blogs or influencers refer to skin brightening, they're generally speaking to a complexion that appears even, smooth and free of any hyperpigmentation. Sounds great, doesn't it? Healthy skin is, and will always be, our number one goal when recommending products or ingredients to help improve your complexion. It just so happens that some of our favourite ingredients for healthy skin are also catalysts for a more vivid appearance. So, here are our top tips to achieve that born-with-it glow.

Tip #1: Sun Protection

None of your efforts have a purpose if you're not protecting your skin from the sun. Increased signs of ageing, brown spots and hyperpigmentation, sunburns or even worse, skin cancer are just a few of the nasty consequences of not wearing sun protection. When on a journey to boost your glow, shielding your skin from UVA/UVB rays and visible light will help to prevent further discolouration due to increased sun exposure.

Did you know that our Super C provides a small percentage of sun protection? That's right! Our blue bottle contributes an SPF of 3. While an incredible feature of our product, it's important to note that daily SPF protection of 30 or more is imperative for maintaining skin health. Don't skimp out!

Tip #2: Multi-Purpose Products & Ingredients

There's no doubt that vitamin C is one of the ultimate ingredients available to combat dull, lacklustre skin but it also happens to be a multi-faceted element in your routine. Not only is it a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from free radicals caused by sun exposure but it encourages collagen production which can lead to stronger, healthier and fuller skin. You can learn more about vitamin C here.

Thankfully, our Super C is 100% vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid). When we first developed it, we wanted to create a product that could be mixed into any cream or gel for ease of use. Remember, your skincare products are only effective when used. Consistency is absolutely key when looking to brighten your complexion. We like to add our Super C to our Light Serum or Moisture every morning but you can also add it into your AHA Cream or Gel for that ultimate glow.

Dealing with hyperpigmentation on your body and looking to brighten things up? Try our Body Silk with 2% niacinamide - another superstar ingredient that helps even out your skin tone for the long run. Read more about niacinamide here. Niacinamide is also found in our Retinol formulas. Retinol is an incredible ingredient for skin brightening as it encourages cell turnover. When the new, fresh cells reach the surface of your skin, your complexion will appear to be more evenly pigmented. However, sun protection is KEY to ensure no new sun spots or marks form on your face.

Tip #3: Non-surgical Skincare Treatments

Healthy skin starts with a good skincare routine but it doesn't have to stop there. There are many incredible non-surgical treatments that pump up the glow while rejuvenating and improving the overall quality of the skin. One of our favourite treats is going in for our monthly Miracle 10 Facial Peel at the MD Beauty Clinic. It's a gentle yet effective ritual we follow that we can customize to fit the current needs of our skin.

If you're looking to take things to another level, you'll definitely want to check out one of their newest treatments, Morpheus8. It combines microneedling with radiofrequency technology to deliver some insane results. It can treat hyperpigmentation spots, smooth out your complexion - even stimulate collagen production. Did we mention it's safe for all skin tones and concerns? Learn more about the treatments available at MD Beauty Clinic here.

Whatever treatments or services you choose to do, always make sure to do your research. You only have one complexion... Let's treat it right!
