This week, we're drawing attention to a skincare ingredient that has become a much-loved favourite by skincare fans everywhere: Vitamin C. You've probably heard that it's a great element to add to your skincare routine, but if you're not sure why, we're here to explain.
Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that has been shown to reduce the look of hyperpigmentation and discolouration, increase collagen production, and help protect skin against sun damage with its low sun protection factor. It's great for its anti-aging properties, and helps with getting that glow we're always after!
If you consume lots of Vitamin C in your diet from fruits and vegetables you might be thinking you're getting enough to benefit your skin - but the truth is, applying it topically is the best way to actually get and see visible skin care results.
So, how can you add this to your routine? Many brands sell Vitamin C serums, but one of the challenges that comes with this ingredient is its short shelf-life if it's not formulated or stored effectively. Since it's an unstable molecule, it is extremely sensitive to light, air and heat exposure, meaning that it can oxidize and lose its efficacy quickly, which is not ideal - especially if you've invested in one that you'd like to see last.
That's why we've taken the powder approach to Vitamin C - our Super C product is 100% pure L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) stored in a UV and heat-protectant blue bottle that can be mixed with any cream or gel product (we like it with our AHA Gel I or Cream on nights we use it). Mixing 1 part Super C to 4 parts of your AHA a few nights a week can ensure you see the benefits of this powerhouse ingredient!
You can also find Vitamin C in our Stem Cell Serum, Cleanser I, Mask, Light Serum and Retinol Treatment to ensure you're getting this amazing ingredient as effectively as possible.
