Skincare Power Couples

Skincare Power Couples

Inseparable. Two peas in a pod. Just can't get enough of one another! Sorry Kimye, we were actually referring to another 'power couple' (awkward). Just like personalities, there are certain ingredients that work perfectly together. Although completely separate elements, when combined, you're blessed with the perfect blend of both worlds. Today, we're talking about the ultimate skincare power couples and why you need to unite them in your regimen.

The 'Forever Young' Power Couple

Keep your skin looking and feeling younger, longer with retinol and sunscreen, the age-defying power couple. For the most part, we all know how crucial year-round SPF application is. But attention all retinoid users: your skin is increasingly more delicate to the sun's rays than most. Retinoids, aka tiny miracle-workers, exfoliate and strengthen your skin's barrier, making those fine-lines hardly noticeable. This, however, can cause your skin to be more susceptible to the outdoor elements, making sunscreen protection imperative.

Use your retinol product, like our Retinol Treatment 30, as a part of your nighttime routine so that your skin can soak in all its infused vitamins. Then, every morning before your moisturizer and makeup, apply our dry-touch Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30. This ultimate power couple will even-out your complexion while protecting your skin from premature ageing and the potentially dangerous health effects of sun damage.

The 'Superstar' Power Couple

Bring these two together and watch your skin get some serious star power. Known for its brightening and anti-inflammatory properties, your AHA products will gently exfoliate dead skin away leaving you with a glowing complexion. Match that with a BHA, such as Salicylic Acid, to combat any blemishes or excess sebum production, and you'll be camera ready in no time.

The key here, however, is not to layer one on top of the other. Since they are both classified exfoliants, layering could strip the skin too far. Try alternating between the two every other day. Or better yet, focus your BHA on your oily t-zone and your AHA on parts of your face that need some brightening. That way, you get the full benefit of this power couple in one application.

Try including these two skincare power couples into your regimen and let us know how your complexion improves. Have another skincare power couples that you swear by? Let us know in the comment section below!👇
