New & Noteworthy: February 2020
It's February, which means we're past the halfway point of winter but we've still got a ways to go before we start to feel the relief of sunnier days and warmer temperatures. Keeping ourselves distracted from the snow, this month's New & Noteworthy roundup captures some major mani inspiration (thank you, J. Lo), hydrating products to keep your skin in shape through the cold, and some small-but-mighty ways to give your self-care routine a boost. Read on for our favourites stories from the last few weeks.

It's been well over a week now, but we are still obsessing over J. Lo & Shakira's Superbowl Halftime Show performance. Celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik dropped the details on J. Lo's stunning manicure, and while it might not be everyone's choice for an everyday mani, we're taking inspiration from the Swarovski stones and crystals for our next nail appointment. A little extra sparkle never hurt anyone.
We like to think of Valentine's Day as an occasion to treat yourself and indulge in a little extra glamour, whether you're celebrating with a partner, friends or just yourself. Heading out for the night? Take a cue from FASHION and check out these incredible looks fresh off the S/S20 runways for inspo. We are loving the continued trend of fresh, dewy skin and pops of major glow on highlighted points of the face (get the look with our Glow Finish Bronzing Powder 😉).

Regardless of what the groundhog had to say, we've still got a little while longer until winter temps let up and the harsh effects of cold winter weather back off. Our friends at S/ Magazine rounded up their favourite products to nourish your skin, including our Intensive Hand Repair (that has truly been saving us all winter long).
So. much. yes. to. this. Sometimes, the best form of self care you can give yourself is quiet alone time. This recent article from HuffPost makes a fantastic case for giving yourself 30 minutes a day all to yourself, and all the benefits that can come from doing so (including lower stress levels, better relationships, and helping discover yourself). We are fans of pairing this alone time with a Mask and our favourite podcast, but it can look however you want it to.
If you haven't considered the benefits of switching to a silk pillowcase, this article from Vogue makes an excellent case. Not only is it great for your hair (particularly if you're trying to get as much mileage out of a recent blowout as possible), they're also a great way to keep your skin in shape. As the article quotes, "Studies have shown an approximate 43% reduction in skin friction during a night’s rest, meaning less irritation and potential fine lines." Pair that with an amazing skincare routine, and you've got a great line of defense for keeping your skin health in shape.
